WHO CAN WORK AT CIVIC HOUSE STUDIO?

Individuals, collectives or organisations can work in the Studio. For a team-based application we recommend you apply for a Workbooth, as Hot-desk memberships can only be used by one person at a time. 

HOW LONG DOES AN APPLICATION TAKE?

An application should take you under 10 minutes to complete. If you feel like you made a mistake, feel free to fill in another form and drop us an email to let us know. We’ll only review the form you’d like us to.

WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK ABOUT MY APPLICATION?

We will do our best to get back to you within the week of your application being submitted.

WHO ASSESSES MY APPLICATION?

Your application is reviewed by the Civic House project manager.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP?

We will select members based on creating a diverse and balanced studio membership made up of a range of skills, disciplines and expertise. We are doing this in order to create a truly collaborative studio – a working environment for people/organisations that work independently to gain some of the benefits of working in a collaborative space:

  • A diverse range of skills and disciplines will provide the opportunity for informal advice and feedback and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • A range of expertise and demographics will create the opportunity for exposure to new ideas.

We aim to support collaboration in the Studio through our facilitated ‘Members Assemblies’ that will create a space for members to gather, share news/opportunities and any feedback about the Studio experience.

AFTER FILLING IN AN APPLICATION, WHEN CAN I START WORKING IN THE STUDIO?

In the application form there is a section where you can specify your preferred start date. We will do our best to get you started in the space on this date, although please bear in mind it may take us a few working days to respond to your application form.

 

 

CAN I BRING ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT INTO THE STUDIO TO WORK ON? CAN I  LEAVE THIS EQUIPMENT OVERNIGHT?

Opting for a Workbooth membership will provide you with the additional space and security to bring in additional equipment such as monitors, larger computers and other desk-based kit that can be left on your desk overnight.

Hot-desking memberships are better suited to those with a remote-working set up (i.e a laptop) that can be packed away at the end of the day. We will have optional locker storage available for any additional kit you use during the day.

CAN I BRING MY DOG TO THE STUDIO?

We welcome well behaved dogs to the Studio. No one likes barking dogs (especially when working!) and we will enforce a three barks and you’re out policy.

CAN I BRING OTHERS TO WORK WITH ME IN THE STUDIO?

You are more than welcome to host meetings with colleagues in the Studio, however if you would like to work together for a whole day or multiple days, we ask that you arrange a day pass for your guest (£10 per day).

HOW DO I GET TO CIVIC HOUSE?

BY BUS:
7, 68, 71a, 72, 75 and M3 bus routes from Buchanan Bus Station

BY SUBWAY:
3 Minute walk from Cowcaddens subway station
7 Minute walk from St Georges cross subway station

BY TRAIN:
15 Minute walk from both Charing Cross and Queen Street Train Station

BY CAR:
Civic House is a 2 minute drive from M8 Motorway – Junction 17

CAN I PARK AT CIVIC HOUSE?

There is limited, metered parking on Civic Street. We have plenty of cycle parking available for those able to cycle to the building.
