UPDATE DECEMBER 2021:
Due to delays and staffing capacity issues caused by Covid and the recent Omicron variant we have taken the decision to postpone the opening of the coworking space and our associated Bursary programme. We will be launching the coworking space in April 2022, with more specific details to be announced in March.
Details of bursary membership opportunity:
We are running a bursary membership scheme to offer 6 people supported membership for 6 months. We are targeting this opportunity at those working across creative, cultural and social sectors whose practices have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic, and who will benefit from access to workspace and support through a peer network.
Who can apply to the Bursary scheme?
Our ambition for the Studio is to engage ‘vertical’ and ‘lateral’ collaboration. We therefore encourage all specifications of workers (self-employed, freelance, employee, part-time) – and scale of organisation (grassroots, start-up, non-profit, local, national, international) to apply to the bursary scheme.
We encourage and will prioritise applications from protected characteristics groups, and those facing intersectional and social barriers.
What support and facilities do Bursary members access?
- Access to a flexible Hot Desk, Monday-Friday 9-5, at no cost (equivalent to £120 p/m)
- Optional locker storage
- Access to communal studio facilities (kitchen, photocopier and paper cutting area)
- Access to members-only events
- Discounted access to meeting rooms and venue booking for meetings and workshops.
During their bursary period, applicants must be able to commit to delivering a workshop, talk or other form of peer-support that can be offered to other Studio members.
How do I apply?
To apply to the scheme, please fill in a short form (below) telling us about your work and how you will benefit from a bursary to work at Civic House.
