CAN I HIRE THE CIVIC HOUSE FOR FILMING, PHOTOGRAPHY, MUSIC VIDEO SHOOTS OR ADVERTISING?

Yes! The space works well for all of those types of hires and is available at affordable rates.

CAN I HIRE THE WHOLE BUILDING?

Currently yes, while the building is in development. Exclusive dry hire is dependent on times, availability and schedule of the wider development of the building.

WHEN IS CIVIC HOUSE OPEN?

The kitchen is open to the public Mon – Thurs 11am – 4pm and then at different times when events or exhibitions are on, please check the events page for upcoming and current public events.

DO YOU HAVE A SOUND SYSTEM/PA/LIGHTING?

We have a small in house PA system, and basic lighting, that can be hired out and can suit events up to 150 people, or can be used as a base to build from for larger events.

Civic House is also able to hire out directly, or source sound systems and technical equipment of any scale on a per event basis.
A full list of all equipment that can be hired is available on request.

DO YOU OPERATE STROBE LIGHTING OR SMOKE MACHINES AT CIVIC HOUSE?

Strobe lighting and smoke/haze machines can be in use for certain events, exhibitions and shows, but we request you contact us before to confirm the details.

CAN I HIRE THE SPACE FOR A GIG, CLUB, OR SHOW?

Civic House can be used to host almost any event. Please contact us with any shows you propose for further discussions.
Any show must be booked with over 6 weeks notice to be able to apply for an occasional license.

DO YOU ALLOW UNDER 18’S AT EVENTS AT CIVIC HOUSE?

We do under 18s into the building throughout the daytime, but not during licensed events, and we operate under a challenge 25 policy. All public wishing to enter the venue must provide ID in the form of a Valid Passport or driver’s license/provisional license.
Civic House reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone, an ID or tickets does not guarantee the right of entry.

DO YOU ALLOW CHILDREN AT EXHIBITIONS/SHOWS?

Exhibitions are unlicensed events and usually open to all ages, but some restrictions may apply. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is 18 years or older.

CAN I HIRE CIVIC HOUSE TO PUT ON AN EXHIBITION?

All requests to hire the space for public exhibition should be accompanied by an exhibition proposal.
Please note, Civic House will not usually accept proposals outside of a call for proposals, which would be announced on our website and social media.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF HIRING THE CIVIC HOUSE?

Civic House’s pricing structure is different for every event, as each hire and event consists of many different factors, if you would like a quote or more information on hiring Civic House please fill in this form.

WHAT TIME DO EVENTS AT CIVIC HOUSE EVENTS RUN UNTIL?

As we operate exclusively on occasional licenses granted by Glasgow City Council and apply for each license individually, times differ event to event. Please check the events page or social media for more information on each individual event.
If you require an alcohol license for an event please note there is a minimum 6-week license application period.

IS THERE DISABLED ACCESS AT CIVIC HOUSE?

Currently the ground floor of Civic House has ground level disabled access. Unfortunately the first floor is not fully accessible. It is our intention to address this as soon as possible. If you would like to discuss this further please get in touch on [email protected]
